Shipping your Trailers: Checklist

The following is a list of required information that Totem Ocean Trailer Express, Inc. must have on the Bill of Lading to accurately process your shipment. In addition, we have included the fax numbers and contact information for your convenience.

Bill of Lading Required Fields:

  • Shipper's full name and address and phone numbers
  • Tote Booking #
  • Trailer number
  • Date
  • Consignee's (Deliver to party) full name, address, and contact number (phone or fax)
  • Routing
  • # of units or packages
  • Hazardous Material (specifically declared) Contact Customer Service for Haz-Mat pre-authorization procedures
  • Description of Commodity (may be a general description for "movement bill". However, a complete trailer manifest (commodity breakdown) must be supplied within 24 hours of vessel departure per STB TOTE 300-C Tariff Item 442.
  • If a refrigerated load, then desired maintain temperature in Fahrenheit
  • Weight - Add dunnage weight (if applicable)
  • Freight billing instructions (Prepaid, Collect, or Third party)
  • Full name, address and phone number of freight payor
  • Shipper's signature and address
  • Storage in Transit for fish loads
  • International Export, add Export Carrier booking number
  • Special Services (i.e. Dual Temp, KFF, Watertight)
  • Hazardous Waste

Please fax your Bill of Lading to TOTE prior to the unit's arrival at the TOTE facility.
